Abstract:

Native areas transformation into anthropogenic areas is a major threat to the survival of natural populations of Cerrado species. Studies on remaining genetic malfunctioning are essential. The present work aimed to characterize the genetic diversity of gabirobeiras from RAPD molecular markers and morphological characters. In order to do so, 140 native gabirobe trees representing native populations were used to evaluate genetic variability based on emolecular morphological data. Seeds of each individual from each population were collected and used for progeny generation and structuring of a germplasm collection of the species. In the progenies from the matrices, morphological evaluations were made in the initial development. The genotypes were grouped for genetic diversity analysis. There was a tendency to clustering according to the origins of the plants under study and genetic variability between and among provenances studied. All provenances presented polymorphism rate higher than 60%. Both by morphological analysis and molecular analysis genetic variability for the study material was identified. Gabirobeiras implemented at Jataí Campus presents genetic variability for the conservation of these plants or works aimed at their improvement.
