Abstract:
The South-west of Goiás State has extensive areas with sandy soils where there has been an advance of sugarcane cultivation. Sugarcane crops have used high doses of potassium in the planting farrow by potassium chloride in these soils for sugarcane-plant cultivation, a condition that may increase the leaching of this nutrient. The objective of this work was to evaluate doss and mode of application of potassium in cane-plant cultivated in Arenosol of the south-west of Goiás State. The experiment was carried out in Aporé-GO, with the cultivar RB92579, in March, 2016. The design was randomized blocks with three repetitions in a 5 x 3 factorial scheme, where the treatments consisted of five doses of potassium (0, 60, 110, 160, 200 kg ha-1 of K2O) and three modes of application (in the furrow, in covering and split fertilization). The source used was potassium chloride (60% K2O). There was no interaction between doses and modes of application for any studied variable. Increasing doses of potassium increased agricultural and industrial yield, while the modes of application did not interfere in the biometric variables on the crop.
