Concentration Area and Research Areas

Concentration area

  • Crop production

Research Areas

  • Phytotechnics: To train professionals in conducting research and exchanging knowledge for the production of new technologies, allowing agricultural exploration to be increasingly efficient and sustainable. Within this context, evaluate the interaction in different systems and production areas (Fruitculture, Large Crops, Horticulture, Forestry and Seed Technology) associated with biotic and abiotic factors.
  • Soils and plant nutrition: Training human resources for the proper use and management of the soil, with an understanding of chemical, physical and biological processes and the soil-plant-water interaction.
  • Genetics and Plant Breeding: To train professionals in research aimed at preservation of genetic resources and application of biotechnological methods and breeding to develop cultivars and hybrids as well as for the conservation of native species.
