Abstract:

The Caryocar Brasiliense also known as pequi plant, is the most important native species in the Cerrado culinary culture. The eatable part is the mesocarp, which can be eaten after cooking, as a jam, milkshake, or as a marinade in dishes like rice, chicken and beans. It’s a fruit tree that can be found in many parts of Cerrado biome. Its potential use plus its big adaptability to sandy and/or not deep enough soil which have severe limitation to retain water, makes this tree an interesting alternative to improve socialenvironmental condition in areas with large amount of soil with this kind of limitation like Southwest of Goiás. It can also work as an alternative program for reforestation in depredated areas. In this paper, it was determined same chemical (peel, nut and pulps chemical analyses), and physics (weigh, diameter and high) parameters from the fruit of some pequi tree (Caryocar brasiliense Camb.) and the nutritional state of the plant (soil and foliar analysis) in two areas of Rio Verde municipality, in the state of Goiás. In conclusion: the pequi tree have high levels of all nutrients analyzed; the fruits are different in mass and volume; the nutrients concentration in fruit and leaves of the pequi fruit didn’t present significant difference among the areas and that the highest level of protein is in the nut and also that the highest levels of lipids are in the pulp of the fruit.
