Abstract:

Farming is a source of various residues, which must be managed within principles, aiming at the sustainability of the system. Dead birds are currently undergoing the composting process, resulting in a compost that can be used as organic fertilizer. Thus, aimed to evaluate the effect of the use of poultry carcass compost on the production of green corn submitted to increasing doses of compost and corresponding chemical fertilization. A randomized complete block design with seven treatments and three replications was used: T1 (without fertilization); T2: 0.402 Mg ha-1 of formula 5 -25-5 + 0.136 Mg ha-1Urea; T3: 0.804 Mg ha-1 of the formula 5-25-5 +0.272 Mg ha-1Urea; T4: 1.608 Mg ha-1 of formula 5-25-5 + 0.544 Mg ha-1Urea; T5: 4.3 Mg ha -1 of compound; T6: 8.6 Mg ha -1 of compound; T7: 17.2 Mg ha-1 of compound. The characteristics evaluated were: green corn yield, plant and ear height, ear weight with and without straw and ear diameter and length. In relation to the soil, the characteristics pH, Al 3+, Ca2 +, Mg2 +, CTC, K +, P, MO, V% were evaluated. In the leaves, the elements N, P, K +, Ca2 +, Mg2 + were evaluated. The results demonstrate that the production of ears with chemical fertilization was not different from that obtained with the use of compost. The soil K + content, with the T4 treatment, presented difference of the emas. The leaf P and Mg2 + contents in the different treatments presented statistical difference in relation to T1 treatment. The results show that the compound has potential for use in agriculture, and further studies should establish the best form and amount to be applied.
