Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Viçosa (1992), masters degree in Genetics and Breeding (1995) and doctorate in Genetics and Breeding (2000) from the Federal University of Viçosa. He was director of the Campus from the Federal University of Goiás in Jataí from 2003 to 2007 and member of the UFG university council in the same period as representative of Jataí Campus. He's the leader of the research group Morphological, physiological and genetic characterization of plants of economic interest in the Cerrado. Coordinated the Agronomy Postgraduate Program "Stricto Sensu" of Jataí Campus in the biennium 2009-2011 and 2013-2015. He's Associate Professor IV working in teaching and research in the field of Genetics and Plant Breeding and Agronomic Experimentation at Jataí Regional/UFG. He guides in the Agronomy Postgraduate Program from the UFG/Jataí Regional in Plant Production, Genetics and Plant Breeding of the School of Agronomy/UFG and in the scientific initiation program of UFG/CNPq. Coordinates projects funded by funding agencies in the area of genetics and breeding of native cerrado plants, maize breeding and pepper breeding. Has experience in Agronomy, focusing on Plant Breeding, acting on the following subjects: Genetic diversity, corn breeding, pre-breeding, selection and genetic parameters. Corn breeding (focus on recurrent selection in materials with exotic germplasm introgression; population breeding; lineage evaluation; disease tolerance selection; water stress material evaluation; green corn evaluation and selection) genetic diversity and adequacy of management techniques and cultivation of cerrado cashew and gabiroba.
